Discover Aberdeen Harbour

Maritime Museum - Aberdeen Harbour Displays

Ships have visited Aberdeen harbour since medieval times. Over the years, the harbour has been transformed from a shallow estuary, with dangerous sandbanks, to a deepwater port. In the 19th century, engineering work encouraged industries like whaling and fishing. In the 1970s, further improvements attracted the oil industry.
